DoctorateHub
We are in search of a freelancer who can support us in our professionalization of our online presence in the months ahead and throughout 2020, and with regards to branding, web design and marketing. We give preference to a freelancer in the wider Porto area, so to facilitate organization, planning and meetups.
Our online presence, the DoctorateHub (https://www.doctoratehub.com), is intended as a forum for professional doctoral practitioners to connect with others dedicated to progressing knowledge in the virtual and physical domains. We are headquartered in VN Gaia, with team members and collaborators being virtually dispersed across the globe.
Since 2016, we offer dedicated physical and virtual training services to doctoral students, and our service offer has been growing considerably over the period 2018 to 2019.
As part of our professionalization efforts, we are now about to release our first one-stop-shop system, to be subsequently followed by an App, which we are developing in-house. With this system we attempt to federate our range of training services and support functions, as well as to optimize interaction with and across our students. With the release of the new system we will be gradually phasing out external systems used at current, such as Moodle.
While some of our support needs still will need to be articulated and identified, the following initial ones have been already outlined:
1.) Overall web design. The starting point is the already available website at https://www.doctoratehub.com/. In addition to this the following pages are under development:
- user area with registration page, my profile, my settings, my activities; this needs overall review/design and the development of an image for the login/register page (a wall of multicultural people)
- forum space; this needs overall review/design and roughly following established practices at well populated spaces such as Yammer.
2.) Icon design; there are around 50-60 icons that need to be (re-)designed and harmonized to have a common design across all icons.
3.) SEO
4.) Marketing support: reaching out to professional doctoral practitioner students through the various online spaces frequented by them.
5.) Identification, integration, and promotion of third-party revenue channels, such as through an amazon affiliate account to offer products such as books and other related items that meet the target's needs.
6.) Support in turning tutorials and guides in interesting infographics and visuals.
