The acoustic from each place can be so distinct that it is possible to establish the identity essence of a given space or object. Through sound we have the perception of what surrounds us: the sound vibrations of a certain place have a direct relation with its inhabitants, where the surrounding acoustics can influence its culture as well as it can come from it. With this, it is possible to psychologically trace an individual and even recognize a city in its genesis.

List-en Lisbon is a project that equates the idea of a sound catalogue, through the configuration and reorganization of sounds, previously recorded at various points of the city of Lisbon, which formally define the base to elaborate a soundscape of Lisbon. The sound composition follows the theoretical principles defined by Murray Scheaffer, in which the author identifies different types of sounds as: keynotes, sound signals and sound marks.

The typology of a soundscape serves as basis to materialize a visual notation as well as to organize and to caption the graphic elements, in a singular and visually expressive approach which allows the visualization of sounds. This composition is distinguished by its diversity and multiplicity, through the mixture and overlap of sounds that circumscribe an intrinsic metaphor to the contrasts which defines a culture and society.
