O projeto foca-se na exploração visual de técnicas da Arte Neo-psicadélica, onde são desenhadas capas dos vinte melhores álbuns do ano 2015 segundo a revista online
Pitchfork. Os álbuns inserem-se em géneros musicais variados, como o Rap, Jazz, Rock ou Música Experimental.

As análises publicadas na revista serviram de apoio ao estudo individual de cada álbum, permitindo conhecer melhor as inspirações e as mensagens que pretendem transmitir. Com efeito, algumas capas são expressões gráficas do tema do álbum (p. ex. Kurt Vile) ou de pormenores das letras (Courtney Barnett), outras focam na atmosfera musical (Tame Impala), ou em aspetos auditivamente relevantes (Beach House).

Do ponto de vista visual, o trabalho criativo foi inspirado pela análise da estética de artistas como Leif Podhajsky, Robert Beatty, Victor Moatti, entre outros, o que conduziu à exploração de técnicas de manipulação de cor e imagem, distorção de formas, juntamente com aspetos visuais de composição de imagem, e a relação entre imagem e tipografia. É notória a influência das cores e do trabalho de gradientes de Robert Beatty (Neon Indian, Kurt Vile), e dos fundos orgânicos de Leif Podhajsky (Jlin, Arca). Tal como nas obras de Podhajsky, coloca-se na maioria das capas o foco na imagem, deixando que esta transmita a mensagem, e retirando algum protagonismo à tipografia. As temáticas características dos vários artistas, também influenciaram a escolha dos elementos figurativos (Young Thug).

Como é típico da Arte Neo-psicadélica, foram usadas como ferramentas a ilustração digital e a colagem fotográfica, utilizando-se por vezes a junção de ambas as técnicas.
As contracapas são um prolongamento da capa, procurando-se uma continuação
da imagem. O software utilizado foi primariamente o Adobe Photoshop, e ocasionalmente o Adobe Illustrator.

This Project focuses on the visual exploration of Neo-Psychedelia Art techniques in which the twenty best albums of the year, according to the online magazine Pitchfork, are designed. The albums belong in an eclectic list of musical genres from Rap, Jazz to Rock or Experimental Music.

The published reviews were used as a support to the individual study of each album, allowing for a better understanding of the inspirations and the messages they intend to transpire. With that in mind, some covers are graphic expressions of the album them (i.e. Kurt Vile) or lettering details (Courtney Barnett) others focus on the musical atmosphere (Tame Impala) or even in relevant audio inputs (Beach House).

From a visual standpoint, the creative work took inspiration from the aesthetic analysis of artists such as Leif Podhajsky, Robert Beatty, Victor Moatti among others, which lead to the exploration of colour and image manipulation techniques and shape distortions alongside the visual aspects of image composition and the relation between image and typography. Robert Beatty’s influence of colours and gradients is prominent (Neon Indian, Kurt Vile) such as Leif Podhajsky’s organic backgrounds (Jlin, Arca). Just like in Podhajsky’s work, most of the album covers have a focus in the imagery allowing it
to convey the message and, at the same time, removing some of typography’s protagonism. The themes the characterize the artists also influenced the choice of figurative elements (Young Thug).

As is typical in Neo-psychedelic Art, tools such as digital illustration and photographic collage were used individually and at times, together. The back covers are an extension of the front cover with the intent of making a continuation of the image. The primary software used was Adobe Photoshop and occasionally Adobe Illustrator.
