Short film "Lucas"
"Lucas" is a short film created by a group of 6 women from different parts of Brazil. We chose to get together and produce something that would really touch us as women.
That's when we thought of "miscarriage" and how a woman would live after having one, as a theme. It's a really sensitive matter that needed to be treated very carefully.
"Lucas" tells the story of Helena, a woman in her early 30's that just had a miscarriage. Helena's solitude and sadness, aligned with her husband's non-presence shows their profound suffering without needing any conversation.
"Lucas" is my first short film as an Art Director and Production Designer.
Since it was the final project of an Filmmaking course, we didn't have a budget to produce the movie. So I had to get along with borrowed stuff and do a lot of DIYs (that was kinda fun).
