Livro Negro
The Academic Federation of Lisbon (FAL) has developed a research project that results in the publication of this book. This aims to mirror the reality reported by students and raise the awareness of different decision-makers for this reality of Higher Education in Portugal, which is often hidden. Many constraints are identified in several areas, such as in terms of funding compared to data from other EU countries, the distribution of social support grants, accommodation of displaced students, but also issues of equality and equity in the Higher Education system, through of their auscultation role in the different Lisbon Educational Institutions.
My role was to devise a visually coherent way to present all the research. This included formatting all the previously written text and passing some data to graphs and tables, in order to simplify the reader’s understanding. The black and white, straight figures and the remaining contrasting image of the cover and back cover, had the objective of exposing this idea of hidden reality of Higher Education that accompanies the whole document. In addition to the graphics, I was also responsible for preparing the final art for printing, through direct contact with the graphics.
