Two projects I did during my exchange programme in Master in Architecture at Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten, in Amsterdam, 2014-2015
P2a - Villa Project for a young artist in Museumplein, Amsterdam, 2015
For this project we needed to design a Villa for a young dutch artist that is very much inspired by Jan Schoonhoven's work, inside or around Museumplein. I wanted to explore the concept of privacy through layers, creating a spiral maze that embraces privacy progressively as you walk to the core of the house where the bedroom suite is. The shapes and colours are referencing Jan's artwork, exploring textures, shadows, views and perspectives in a blank space.
P2b - Building - Grandstand Proposal, no site defined, 2015
The Grandstand project was a daring project subject to me. It made me feel insecure and thrilled simultaneously. This was an opportunity to understand and experiment with something I wasn't familiar with: a soccer game environment. For this project I was really inspired by how the Municipal Stadium of Braga by Eduardo Souto de Moura's could stand so gracefully while all forces get distributed easily through the tensioned structure.
