Este projecto foi uma proposta para a marca de Chá do Monte_typical portuguese tea. O Alentejo é uma região definida dentro de Portugal por terra na fronteira com a margem esquerda do rio Tejo para o Norte e estende-se para o Sul, onde faz fronteira com a região do Algarve. O Alentejo é um produtor abundante de marcas excelentes, tais como as de vinho, azeite, ervas e carnes recheadas. Existem exemplos bonitos e originais das artes e ofícios tradicionais, como a cerâmica e pintura, trabalhos em couro e têxteis.
Nos produtos portugueses tem havido uma tendência crescente para usar os motivos tradicionais portugueses presentes nos azulejos e nos trajes típicos do folclore português. Decidi usar os padrões tradicionais dos cobertores e mantas alentejanas, que são símbolos das raízes do Alentejo e pouco exploradas na divulgação da identidade típica Portuguesa. Minha inspiração foram as linhas sinuosas da paisagem deslumbrante e relaxantes do Alentejo e os padrões quentes e vibrantes de artes tradicionais e a textura do artesanato em bordados dos cobertores, capas, tapetes e tapeçarias.

This project was a proposal for branding of Chá do Monte typical portuguese tea. In portuguese translation Chá do Monte means “Tea Hill” from Alentejo, south-central part of Portugal. This beautiful region is defined within Portugal by the land bordering the left bank of the Tagus river to the North and extending to the South where it borders the Algarve region.

The origin of its name, “além” + “Tejo” combined as Alentejo, literally translates to “Beyond-the-Tagus” or “Across-the-Tagus”. Alentejo is the great and abundant producer of excelent brands like of wine, olive-oil, herbs, stuffed meat.

There are also beautiful and unique examples of traditional arts and crafts like pottery and painting, work in hide and leather and textiles.

Portuguese products have been immersed in a growing tendency to use the Portuguese traditional motifs present in the tiles and typical portuguese folklore costumes. It was felt to use patterns from Alentejan blankets and covers, which are symbols of the roots of the Alentejo, unexplored in spreading of the typical Portuguese identity. My inspiration were sinuous lines of Alentejo’s stunning and relaxing landscapes and also warm, vibrant patterns from traditional arts and crafts in embroidery present on blankets, covers, rugs and tapestries.
