Podium: It's the People, Who Make the Fashion
Podium is a unique social network with fashion at its centre. It is a rendez-vous point for stylists and advice seekers where both can mutually make better fashion decisions.
Podium was born as a result of a Design Studio project in the joint programme of Tallinn Univesity of Technology and Estonian Academy of Arts. Estonia's biggest apparel manufacturer and retailer Baltika cooperated on the project.
The aim of the project was to search and test new concepts of how we would buy and sell tomorrow, connecting the virtual and physical possibilities. The expected outcome would be a conceptual system presenting a new and enchanced customer experience and a scalable business opportunity.
A human-centred design approach was taken, which meant looking for trends and possibilities in people's behaviour, to find what is meaningful and what offers value to the consumer. The new concept should enable tehcnology platforms, which will change the way we live and experience our everyday life.
