-> This is a photo project about self-discovery through travel. That little feeling of emptiness when your life falls in a daily routine without wonders and joys. A constant route filled with mechanical and gray movements. It's your confort zone, your home. You become unknown to yourself, almost a ghost, someone who had lost their will to dream, to excitement and wonder. Having this in mind I created this surreal character to represent the human being, an unknown man. He could be anyone, but remains unknown. I wanted him to be somehow mysterious as his soul and his constant search throughout the world. The black coat and black hat represent that dark side of his search, the doubtfulness that haunts his spirit. While the absence of his body represent his anonymity and incomplete identity.
This man took a leap of faith and went on a spiritual search with the dream of having his questions answered and his awareness of the world enlightened.
Exploring himself outside of his safety box, or confort zone.
Usually travel includes not only places but all kinds of different people with a wide range of experiences and lives. And usually a trade of experiences happens. But I wanted to get away of the human interaction and focus this project in the idea of introspection. The mystery man went on a search to seek answers for his questions, only to find out he was the only one who could possibly ever answer them.
In the end a new vision of the world has grasped his mind, and through the understanding of his surroundings, he understands himself.
