GIRLS RESIDENCE
An environment that transmits comfort with a feminine touch, with characteristics intrinsic to the location and history of Covilhã.
As the city of Covilhã is recognized by the wool industry and the former owner of the building was one of the biggest entrepreneurs in the industry, I considered these aspects as a starting point for the concept.
The industrial decorative elements are a contrasting compliment as well as the old rose, a warm and soft color, which transmits comfort and will appear occasionally in conjunction with the neutral tones used as a base in the decoration of the entire house.
With this combination of materials and textures, I can give a feminine touch that the residence needs in light and coherent form.
COMMOM AREA
This is a Palace with a strong aesthetic with the presence of the Art Nouveau Movement.
In the concept, we intend to take emblematic details of the building and combine them with neutral tones transmitting luminosity and modernity.
One of the region’s greatest attributes is the “art of know-how”, taking advantage of this wisdom, I applied it in the decorative aspects of the accommodation, as a guiding complement to the traditions of Covilhã.
As such, this project will dominate a neutral base complemented by the use of pine wood, textiles from the region and patterns inspired by art nouveau.
BOYS RESIDENCE
The concept for this house has the students as its core, we were inspired by “the bohemian student”, as there was a tavern in the basement of the building and we thought it was a fun connection point for this project.
A space with a rustic and industrialized design, in the true academic spirit, creating pieces that develop conversations and store memories (such as the old frames with photos of students passing through this house).
The tones used are neutral, more inclusive and predominant, intended to give a feeling of calm and light. The materials respect the identity of the place and, similarly to the other houses, we transpose this segment throughout the house in decorative notes, furniture and textiles.
